Anonymous asked: What is The Promise?

It’s a sequel to the series. It happens before LoK so basically you have to read it, or not, if you don’t want feelings.

Anonymous asked: Have you/will you read The Promise? What do you think of it?

  • Ok
  • Let’s get down to business.
  • I love the art of this graphic novel. Since it’s not saturated, I didn’t have any problems reading.
  • Oogies? Lilyliver? Ugh, the repeated usage of these terms is killing me. And I don’t think it’s because they’re not actually saying it, no.
  • SWEETIE? It’s just OOC. I can’t see either Aang or Katara saying it.  Someone please e-mail Gene Yang for better pet names, thanks.
  • Zuko, zuko, zuko. *sigh* You made another bad decision. Your first one, I guess? I love you, Zuko, you know that, right? But asking advice from your corrupt douche bag father is not going to help your self-esteem issues. You want to be a just Fire Lord, albeit being a young monarch like you, it’s coming hard even without all the pressures – plus, wanting to make the world a ~better place~ doesn’t mean you’re a coward.
  • I love how Aang does his Avatar Job Dot Com though. I think it’s fantastic to see someone in his right mind, although he has anger issues, AGAIN. Oh wait, that’s why Katara’s there – to make everything possible by a touch on the face !!!
  • But why does he have to go into the Avatar State just to battle Zuko? That’s weird, because hey, remember what happened in EIP when Zuko had gone mad, ending up attacking Aang just because he’s being his paranoid self? Aang didn’t go into his Avatar State – he just airbended Zuko, and that’s that.
  • SMH at that part.
  • Oh, but I love the comic tbqh.
  • It still shows everyone’s flaws, which is basically why I love this show. It still is realistic: how either side Zuko goes to makes him a traitor (to his friends or to his people), how Aang and Zuko both have good arguments about the colonies being driven out of their home and will to attain peace. It’s just so gr9 that the narrative is not so rigged. :’)
  • So yeah, it’s good. Very good. It’s a good read, since it’s the canon sequel to the series (duh).
  • If you didn’t like it, then there’s something wrong with your analyzation of the series.

Harry Potter and the Times He Was Brilliantly Sarcastic

nevillethebamf:

“Yeah, Quirrell was a great teacher. There was just that minor drawback of him having Lord Voldemort sticking out of the back of his head!”

“Well, I had one that I was playing Quidditch the other night,” said Ron, screwing up his face in an effort to remember. “What do you think that means?”
“Probably that you’re going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something,” said Harry.

“Wow, I wonder what it’d be like to have a difficult life?” said Harry sarcastically.

“Cool name,” said Harry, grinning, “but you’ll always be Ickle Diddykins to me.”

“Listening to the news! Again?”
“Well, it changes every day, you see,” said Harry.

“You know your mother, Malfoy? The expression on her face - like she’s got dung under her nose? Is she like that all the time or just because you were with her?”

“And they’d [the Death Eaters] love to have me,” said Harry sarcastically. “We’d be best pals if they didn’t keep trying to do me in.”

“This is night, Diddykins. That’s what we call it when it goes all dark like this.”

“Brilliant! It’s Potions last thing on Friday! Snape won’t have the time to poison us all!”

“Pity you can’t attach an extra arm to yours [broom], Malfoy. Then it could catch the Snitch for you.”

“I don’t know who Maxime thinks she’s kidding. If Hagrid’s half-giant, she definitely is. Big bones… the only thing that’s got bigger bones than her is a dinosaur.”
